TELESUR Denies Rumors on Venezuela Vote

The president of TELESUR multi-state channel, Andres Izarra, on Sunday denied stories that the network intends to broadcast early information on the results of the referendum being voted today in Venezuela.

"That is completely false," Izarra told Prensa Latina when interviewed on related remarks by Juan Carlos Caldera, leader of the opposition "Primero Justicia" party.

Izarra clarified TELESUR's situation this year, with an open signal for Venezuela, is different to the past, when it was left out of the electoral law banning broadcasting early results for being a channel only received abroad.
