Political Trial against Oaxaca's Governor Concludes
The APPO holds Ruiz responsible for the police brutality, torture, arbitrary arrest and harassment as well as unlawful killings, including 12 people, during a political and social conflict staged in the Mexican state of Oaxaca in 2006.
In an act started at Zocalo of Mexico City on Friday, the APPO members and followers said that the justice system currently established in Mexico does not guarantee an impartial defense for the victims of violations of human rights.
Regarding this, the spokesman of the popular assembly, Castulo Lopez, said that due to the prevailing impunity, victims run the risk of being harassed, arrested, or even killed when denouncing the violations of human rights.
