Tehran, June 11

Presidents Daniel Ortega (Nicaragua) and Mahmud Ahmadineyad (Iran) highlighted the fraternity, cooperative links in defense of justice and peace existing between their two countries.

We return to our country more encouraged and certain that unity between both peoples is unshakable, stressed the Nicaraguan president, who described his visit as a milestone in the history of relations between the two countries.

During an official farewell ceremony in Tehran, Ortega noted that Nicaragua and Iran share common objectives and the important thing is "to forge unity between the peoples in Latin America and the Islamic Republic of Iran," according to a report of Iranian IRNA news agency.

For his part, Ahmadinejad told journalists there are no obstacles to broaden bilateral cooperation and expressed support to the Nicaraguan people's independence and progress.
