Fidel Castro Praises Vietnam Resistance

Havana, June 5 (Prensa Latina)

President Fidel Castro reaffirmed his affection, admiration and respect for the people of Vietnam and its top leader Nong Duc Manh, who has just wrapped up a visit to Cuba.

In a special TV broadcast appearance Tuesday, the Cuban leader highlighted the thousand year-old history, wisdom, patriotism, bravery and resistance of the Vietnamese people.

In a dialogue with Randy Alonso, the host of the daily "Round Table" TV Program, the Cuban president also highlighted the virtues of the Secretary General of the Communist Party of Vietnam, whom he described as boasting great intelligence, solid experience and plenty of energy.

Donning a red and blue track suit with white piping, and in very high spirits, Fidel Castro said he very much appreciated the presence of Nong Duc Manh in Cuba.
