In recent years mexico's autonomous social movements have provided inspiring examples of anti-capitalist resistance, from the indigenous Zapatista movement entering its new phase with the ' Other Campaign ' building a network of struggles to the uprising in Oaxaca. Come and learn about these struggles and participate in discussion. We will be screening the ' Seige of Atenco ' and a short film interview with a participant in the Atenco struggle as well as other films. Organised by Melbourne - Mexico-Australia Solidarity network ( MELB-MASN ) we will be screening a number of short films about the zapatista movement and discussing the new phase of the ' Other Campaign' We hope to learn from these and discuss making the ' Other Campaign on An Other Continent' The Mexico-Australia Solidarity Network (MASN) supports *La Sexta Declaracion de la Selva Lacandona* and seeks to promote understanding of its aims, and act in solidarity with *La Otra Campa**ña.* MASN plans to engage in four main activities: - education in Australia of La Sexta and La Otra Campaña and the broader political situation in Mexico; - accredit Australian activists seeking to visit Zapatista communities; - to run campaigns in solidarity with struggle for civil society in Mexico; - and to raise funds to support Zapatista communities and political struggles in Mexico. contact MASN melbourne via website http://www.masn.org.au
