Venezuelans Begin Early Celebrating

Voter exit polling in Venezuela sound so good for President Hugo Chavez that his supporters have started setting off fireworks and sounding horns early Sunday evening in anticipation of his triumph.

Observers Stress Public-Spirited Elections

The voting itself has been calm in the more than 11,000 polling places in the country, and word of mouth from voters indicate 67 percent for the present president with 33 percent going to main opposition candidate Zulia Gov. Manuel Rosales, according to Capriles y Venevision.

Digital Aporrea reported that another opposition candidate, Marcel Granier of 1BC Corporations, has already conceded Chavezó win to Venezuelan Vice President Jose Vicente Rangel.
