Evo Morales: Bolivia Wants Partners
Bolivian President Evo Morales held a meeting Sunday in Paris with Paris Mayor Bertrand Delanoe, where tackled collaboration projects and repeated that his nations is seeking for partners, not owners.
Morales noted that the hydrocarbons nationalization Bolivia has undertaken neither expropriate foreign companies nor expel them, stressing his country is just exerting its property right over natural resources.
He reminded that those overseas firms affected can re-talk their investments within a 180-day period.
The Bolivian leader arrived in Paris today on a 24-hour visit, which opened with an encounter with Delanoe, whom he explained the measures boosted by his administration and the changes in the national Constitution.
The South American statesman is accompanied by Danielle Mitterrand, widow of former French president Francois Mitterrand and chair of France Liberté NGO in Bolivia.
Morales also met with a delegation of Bolivians who reside in France and is wrapping up his visit by gathering with UNESCO Director General Koichiro Matsuura.
