Colombia, Venezuela to deal with alleged plot, demise of CAN

Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez and his Colombian counterpart Álvaro Uribe are to meet next Monday (today, May 8), in Costa Rica to try to overcome potential dismantling of the CAN and discuss the claims of an alleged plot against the Venezuelan Government.

The Colombian Foreign Ministry issued Friday a succinct press release confirming the meeting to deal with bilateral issues, particularly the crisis at CAN following the announcement on Venezuela's withdrawal.
