Cuba Bares Bush Hate, Threats

The new aggressive escalation announced by US President George W. Bush discloses his real aims of forcibly reconquering Cuba, the island"s Foreign Minister Felipe Perez Roque stated.

In a news conference in this capital Wednesday, the minister responded to the new US presidential plan to force a change of system in this country.

"We tell Bush that the day to lift the blockade is coming," said the foreign minister, alluding the next UN vote on a resolution on the need to end the siege against Cuba, supported by an overwhelming majority year after year since 1992.

The Cuban official also demanded Bush eliminate the prohibition of trips to the island, respect Cubans" right to independence and sovereignty, cease threats immediately, stop interfering in Cuba"s internal affairs and end subversive actions and the radio-TV war against this country.

Also on the list was not to encourage illegal emigration from Cuba, abolish the Cuban Adjustment Act, release five Cuban anti-terrorist fighters unfairly imprisoned in US jails, and extradite and try infamous terrorist Luis Posada Carriles.

Other points included the closure of the jail located in the illegal naval base in Guantanamo, Cuba and ending pressures against the international community.

Perez Roque noted that Cubans reject each phase of Bush"s hate and threat, and refuse to be deceived, purchased, threatened or surrender. hr iff leg yp mf PL-7
