Bolivia Illiteracy Decreases with Cuban Method

To the recent declaration of Chulumani as region free of illiteracy, people in 42 Bolivian municipalities are now added to those who can now know to read and write thanks to the Cuban method "Yes, I can."

Chulumani region, in the mountainous province of Sud Yungas, hoisted the symbolic white flag, declaring that its 1,455 habitants know how to read and write, and received the special recognition of President Evo Morales.

Cuban ambassador to Bolivia Rafael Daussa encouraged Bolivians to continue studying through the second phase of the Cuban program, which includes primary and high studies.

The coordinators of the so called Post- Literacy in Chulumani told Prensa Latina that there is a total commitment of professors and high school graduates to support that new phase.
