Puerto Ricans Denounce FBI Plot

The Federal Bureau of Investigations is paving the way to unleash an arrest offensive against patriots the day before commemorating the Grito de Lares, Puerto Rican pro-independence sources denounced on Tuesday.

Hostosiano National Pro-Independence Movement Co-President Hector Pesquera asserted that the federal agents are maintaining a public offensive to justify their actions against the national left.

As an example, he highlighted the absurd statement that the clandestine Puerto Rican people's army, EPB-Macheteros, announced that it would attack state and federal government public structures.

Pesquera said that has the objective of justifying any action by US federal agents against the national left, mainly the arrest of activists.

Not even Police Chief Pedro Toledo, which would be a EPB-Macheteros target, gave credence to the denunciation that was supposedly issued by San Juan's municipal guard.

Toledo called an announcement of that nature "strange," because the Macheteros have never announced their actions beforehand.

Radio commentator Carlos Gallisa said the FBI is trying to create an atmosphere in public opinion favorable to unleashing repression against the Puerto Rican pro-independence movement.
