Morales: Capitalism is Foe of Humanity
Bolivian President Evo Morales affirmed on Tuesday that capitalism is the worst enemy of humanity and it is up to the peoples to change the view of this system.
At the fifth World Encounter of the Network in Defense of Humanity, Morales reminded the more than 100 guests from 26 countries that behind bellicose conflicts are governments political interests, but never those of the peoples.
In his first meeting with the journalists, Morales told them it is the media"s duty to spread the truth, called the meeting timely and hoped the debates help save life on Earth from selfish, predatory policies.
The statesman recalled that private corporate media has silenced the reality of fuel nationalization that is his government"s key program.
He also stressed that indigenous cultures are the moral reserve of humanity today and called to deepen promotion of these ideas.
Venezuelan Minister of Culture Francisco Sesto announced for October the sixth edition of the biannual meeting in Ecuador to reinforce the battle of opinions and hoped to meet in 2008 in Africa.
Previous editions were held in Mexico (2003), Spain (2004), Venezuela (2005) and Italy (2006).
