Castro's niece says Fidel is in "stupendous" condition

Fidel Castro's niece says he's recovering well from surgery and would likely be "very active" again in Cuba's government.
Mariela Castro Espin, the daughter of acting President Raul Castro, says -- quote -- "Fidel is stupendous."
Castro Espin, who heads the National Center for Sex Education, says she has not seen her uncle in recent days, but has spoken with "many people to be able to have information from different points of view" about his condition.
She made the comments in Havana at the dedication of a book of collected speeches and interviews by her mother, a veteran of the revolution led by Castro.
Fidel Castro, who is 80, has disappeared from view since temporarily ceding power to his younger brother, aside from occasional videotaped meetings with foreign visitors.
