Audit of voting machines output starts next week

An audit of voting machines' output will be undertaken next week. The process will check the signature stamped on the data audit and source code, and a sample will be taken for pre-dispatch audit.

National Electoral Council (CNE) Information Technology director Leonardo Hernández provided the information during the show "Sufragio," aired by Radio Nacional de Venezuela and produced by CNE, official news agency ABN reported.

There, the CNE representative explained that pre-dispatch audit involves a controlled replication of the ballot to check the accuracy of the intention to vote captured in the voting voucher, the scrutiny records and the adding-up system.

The official informed that the audit of the CNE technological platform has been carried out smoothly.

He noted that innumerable political parties' representatives have taken part in the physical check of all the system components, electoral instruments and data.

The expert made reference to 12 audits scheduled for the voting system in order to ensure transparency in the presidential election next December 3rd.
