Sister of American missing in Chile for 21 years says he may be alive
SANTIAGO, Chile
Boris Weisfeiler was one of more than 3,000 people who vanished after being arrested during the military dictatorship of Gen. Augusto Pinochet. He's the only American still missing.
Yet his sister said yesterday she holds out hope he is alive, 21 years later.
"I know he was alive two and a half years after his disappearance because there are some people who saw him; so if he was alive then, he may still be alive now," Olga Weisfeiler of Newton, Mass., said at a news conference with U.S. Ambassador Craig Kelly.
