Bolivia Becomes Telesur Shareholder

Bolivia joined the Latin American Telesur television network, after Presidential Minister Juan Ramon Quintana and the Station President Andres Izarra signed an angreement.
Both signed a letter of intempt on Wednesday night, in which Bolivia commits itself to acquire five percent of the new Southern Television (Telesur) shares, and highlighted the beginning of an extensive cooperation program.
Izarra said the agreement will come into effect over coming weeks, when Presidents of Bolivia Evo Morales and Venezuela´s Hugo Chavez sign an energy summit to be held in Paraguay.
Bolivia is the fifth country to join Telesur, in which the governments of Venezuela, Cuba, Argentina, and Uruguay are already participating, the Venezuelan executive said.
