Venez High Tech Health Center Opens

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez is inaugurating Thursday in Vargas state a High Technology Center (HTC) for health care.
The facility is part of the programs developed by the Bolivarian executive to perfect the health care network and extend health benefits to traditionally excluded sectors.
Chavez has repeatedly highlighted the incredible advances in this field by his nation through the implementation of Barrio Adentro (Inside the Neighborhood) social programs.
Those projects are being carried out in three stages. The first one deals with primary health attention supported by Cuban medical staff working in the poorest communities.
The second stage has seen the construction of 35 HTC, 600 Integrated Diagnostics Centers and an equal number of Integrated Rehabilitation centers to give free professional health care.
Barrio Adentro III seeks to both upgrade` existing hospitals as well as construct new secondary medical facilities.
