Presidents Invited to Bolivia Assembly

La Paz
The presidents of Brazil, Chile, Venezuela and the US have been invited to attend the ceremony to create the Constituent Assembly of Bolivia, according to government spokesman Alex Contreras.

Contreras told Prensa Latina Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva; Michelle Bachelet; Hugo Chavez and George W Bush were invited by Bolivian President Evo Morales.

The Latin American leaders were invited in person in Chile, where they attended the swearing-in ceremony of Bachelet, and other regional heads of states will also receive invitations.

The spokesman said the Bolivian president gave US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice the letter in which he invited Bush.

Bolivia is inviting world presidents to the creation of the Constituent Assembly because it will be a historic date to re-found Bolivia on the basis of equity and sovereignty, noted Contreras.

President Evo Morales stated Venezuela will provide 1.5 million dollars to finance the construction of headquarters of the assembly in the southern city of Sucre, historic capital of Bolivia.

Morales said Presidential Minister Juan Ramon Quintana will visit Caracas to talk about the donation.
